This induction resource will take you on a journey over the course of one to two years, to unpack the core purpose and task of Christian education. You will likely notice very quickly, that being a Christian teacher is not at all the same as teaching Christianly. Our assumption is that this is likely your first year of teaching in a Christian school, either as a graduate or an experienced teacher who has taught elsewhere until now. There is much to learn about teaching as a profession, in addition to the specialised understanding of the craft of Christian teaching. It will take time, coaching, practice, reflection, and a faithful approach to learning.

Our ‘deep hope’ is that this resource helps deepen your understanding of the vision for Christian education and the implications for your own practice. We hope that this learning experience inspires you to pursue a deep and faithful commitment to developing your craft while engaging in rich conversations and grappling with some of the foundational understandings and practices that continue to shape our school communities.

Whether you are working alone through these modules, or whether you’re working with a small group of colleagues, we hope and pray it will be a fruitful and formational time.
