Primary HPE Teacher

Launceston Christian School (TAS) is a co-educational independent K-12 Christian School which aims to provide a caring and stimulating environment for learning.  The school is distinctively Christ centred and is committed to providing effective spiritual, emotional, physical and academic support for all its students.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and committed Christian professionals for the part-time position for a Primary Health and Physical Education Teacher, commencing at the start of Term 3 of 2025 (0.567 to 0.867 FTE), with the potential for role expansion into 2026 for the right candidate.

Working within a team of dedicated Primary School teachers, the successful applicant will deliver engaging and complimentary curriculum in all Primary Health and PE classes.

Position Summary

Bringing a Christian perspective to bear in all aspects of work, the Primary HPE Teacher is responsible for all aspects of planning, preparation, development, delivery and assessment of effective teaching and learning for every student in the allocated class, through the following:

• Plan and teach from a Biblical worldview
• Relevant knowledge, skills and understanding based on the school’s published curriculum
• Engage with students to deliver an interesting and challenging Health and Physical Education curriculum
• Support the spiritual and emotional growth of each student
• Make learning accessible and inclusive for different learning styles and abilities
• Coordinate and manage the sport program at LCS and our involvement with the NIJSSA sporting associations

Applicants will need to be:

• Practicing Christians, actively involved in their local church and able to subscribe to the School’s Mission Statement and Educational Creed
• Registered with the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board
• Registered with a current Working with Vulnerable People (Employment) Card

Commencement Date:  21^st July 2025
