Description

We are seeking compassionate and capable casual School Nurses to join our relief pool, supporting the health and wellbeing of students and staff across our school as needed.  This is an ideal opportunity for a nurse looking for flexible work in a supportive school environment.

About the Role

As a Casual School Nurse, you will provide responsive, high-quality first aid and health support during staff absences or peak periods.  You will play an important role in ensuring continuity of care and maintaining a safe, healthy environment for our school community.

Your work will include:

  • Providing first aid and triage for students and staff
  • Administering and managing student medications in line with care plans
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential health records
  • Supporting the implementation of individual health care plans
  • Collaborating with staff to promote student wellbeing
  • Contributing to the broader life of the school community, including its Christian ethos

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for experienced and adaptable nurses who are confident stepping into a school environment at short notice.

You will ideally have:

  • Registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with AHPRA (Enrolled Nurses also encouraged to apply)
  • Demonstrated clinical experience (school or paediatric experience highly regarded)
  • A current CPR certificate
  • A valid, paid NSW Working with Children Check
  • Strong assessment and decision-making skills
  • A calm, flexible approach in dynamic situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with childhood health needs (e.g. asthma, anaphylaxis, diabetes) would be an asset

Work Environment

As part of our casual pool, you will:

  • Be contacted to provide cover for planned or unplanned absences
  • Work independently while being supported by a collaborative staff team
  • Engage regularly with students, parents, and staff
  • Help ensure continuity in health care, records and first aid preparedness.
