There has never been a better time to apply your educational expertise and professional leadership to a Kingdom cause, helping shape the future of Marrara Christian College.  Northern Territory Christian Schools is promoting a valuable opportunity for you to continue your career while impacting the local community and lives of the staff and students in your care.

Founded on the values and principles of Christian faith, Marrara Christian College sits on 18 hectares of tropical bushland in Darwin, influencing nearly 400 students daily.  Marrara is a learning community where parents and staff partner together to help students discover and develop their gifts. Students are nurtured according to a biblically based school curriculum to build their faith, character and desire to serve.  We are learning together to live life as God intended, offering hope for the world.

On behalf of the School Board and the CEO, we invite you to register your expression of interest now, to join the NT Christian Schools’ network of schools and lead Marrara Christian College as the Principal from 2025.

About this role:

The Principal will be a trusted leader who will develop teams, lead initiatives, promote the School’s Action Plan, serve according to the Board’s Strategic Plan, and guide pedagogy according to Christian education and biblical worldview.  The Principal will foster relationships and reputation of the College within the local community.  The role requires the highest commitment to the Lord, His Word and to Christian Education. Working closely with families and community, the Principal will lead with faith-based values and promote academic excellence.  The Principal will serve as part of a cohesive Senior Leadership Team who lead seven schools across the Northern Territory.

NT Christian Schools exists to advance the Christian religion through the provision of education and religious instruction.  For the purposes of upholding the Christian ethos of our schools, it is a genuine occupational qualification of this role that applicants be able to teach religious education, lead, and otherwise assist in religious practices and observances and personally adhere to, uphold, and authentically model the religious beliefs of NT Christian Schools.

All employees for NT Christian Schools are to be committed to ensuring child safety, health and wellbeing practices are followed and upheld.  These practices are embedded in NT Christian Schools policy and culture as guided under current legislation.

“At Marrara we seek to provide an education that is Christ centred, biblically grounded, academically rigorous and culturally engaging.  We are committed to loving the students entrusted to us.  That expresses itself by seeking what is in the best interest of those in our school community, especially the students in our care.  Our students are God’s “image bearers” which gives them inherent worth.  This is also true of our staff and parents.  As an educational institution we strive to stretch our students academically and to provide an environment that is safe and nurturing in which they can flourish. As part of that, students are expected to be respectful of staff and of the learning of other students.”
