The College is currently seeking applications for a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher – Physical Education (PE) to join a dynamic and passionate team of educators on a permanent part time basis (4 days a week) commencing in January 2025.
As the Primary PE Teacher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the physical education experience of our students. You will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging PE programs that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and a healthy lifestyle. Your passion for teaching and commitment to student development will be key in creating a positive and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive physical education programs tailored to the needs of Prep to Year 6 students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and enthusiasm for physical activity.
- Coordinate and oversee school sports days and interschool sport programs, including planning, organization, and execution.
- Assess and evaluate students’ progress and provide feedback to support their development.
- Collaborate with other staff members to integrate physical education with broader educational objectives.
- Promote and organize extracurricular sporting events and activities.
- Engage with parents and the broader school community to promote physical education and its benefits.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sport Science, or a related field.
- Relevant teaching qualification and current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
- Demonstrated experience teaching physical education at the primary school level.
- Proven experience in coordinating sports days and interschool sport programs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Commitment to engage with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to achieve the best student outcomes.
- Commitment to upholding and integrating a Christian worldview and values within the educational experience.
- A committed Christian, active in your local church (pastoral reference required) and in full agreement with the College’s evangelical Statement of Faith.
- Strong commitment to child safety.
