Primary Learning Assistant Position

Mount Evelyn Christian School has a part-time position (0.6 FTE over 4 days – Tues, Wed, Thurs & Fri) available for a Learning Assistant (Teacher’s Aide) in our Primary School, commencing 24^th February, 2025.  This will be a fixed agreement ending 4^th July, 2025.

MECS is looking for a Learning Assistant to join the growing Learning Support team in the Primary section of MECS.  The ability to build effective relationships is vital in this role, and some knowledge and/or experience of supporting students living with learning difficulties.

Applicants should be suitably qualified (minimum Cert III in Education Support), have previous experience in a similar Education Support role and be highly motivated.  You must have a Working with Children Card and current Police Record Check.

Learning Assistants have a broad role.  They undertake a variety of duties which mostly comprise assisting teachers and supporting students in the classroom and other educational activities, and providing attendant care and assistance to students, as required.  The position may also include some administrative or clerical tasks, and assistance with resources in a variety of school settings, such as the classroom, library and laboratories.
