Waverley Christian College is a forward thinking and culturally diverse Christian co-educational school from Kinder to Year 12.  We have been providing students with a quality Christian educational experience for over 45 years.  With campuses in Wantirna South and Narre Warren South, Waverley Christian College has an enrolment of over 2400 students with 400 staff across both campuses in 2024.

The Narre Warren South Campus is seeking a Head of Teaching and Learning (Secondary) to commence Term 1, 2025.   The role has a time allocation of approximately half Head of Teaching and Learning (22 periods per fortnight) and half as a teaching component (FTE 0.49).

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategies to optimise the teaching and learning of the Secondary School.  While having an active teaching role, the Head of Teaching and Learning will adopt administrative and leadership responsibilities and will display and develop their leadership skills and act as a resource and professional support to the Secondary Staff team.

We are looking for applicants with a demonstrated ability to encourage, educate and equip our students in achieving their personal best and have a commitment to our College values.

The successful applicant must:

  • Be a qualified teacher and hold a current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)
  • Have current First Aid qualifications and Anaphylaxis Certificate or be willing to obtain these prior to commencement.
  • Be able to show a commitment to the values and ethos of Christian education.
  • Be willing to get involved in all aspects of the College’s programs and opportunities.
  • Have high level communication and interpersonal skills.

Applicants are to include a Resume, Letter of Application, Pastoral Reference and complete the screening questions as part of the application process.  Applicants will also need to provide three references.  A First Aid Certificate (HLTAD011) and Anaphylaxis Certificate are also required prior to starting in the role.
