Broughton Anglican College is a Pre Kinder to Year 12 Christian School in the Macarthur region and provides exceptional educational opportunities to more than 1,400 students.  Staff enjoy an innovative teaching environment with supportive peers, students, parents and carers.

This position is a full-time permanent position commencing in January of the 2025 academic year.  The position works in collaboration with the Gifted and Talented Senior School coordinator, as well as the Dean of Learning and reports to the Deputy Principal Teaching and Learning.

The Aim of the Gifted and Talented program is to:

  • Implement a process for identifying gifted and talented students at Broughton Anglican College.
  • Lead the teaching staff in effective teaching practices and strategies for the education of students who are gifted and talented.
  • Promote learning opportunities that cater for gifted and talented students within the School and wider community.

The successful candidate will be responsible to lead the development and implementation of gifted and talented learning systems across the Junior School, including specific learning plans to support students identified as gifted in the Junior School.  This is an exciting opportunity for a leadership role in a growing Christian school.

Core Responsibilities:

The Gifted and Talented Coordinator should work to:

  • Develop and implement effective systems to identify gifted and talented students and ensure their learning needs are supported effectively in the Junior School.
  • Ensure the development and delivery of quality and engaging teaching programs through a Christian world view.
  • Develop individual plans to ensure effective support for gifted students with needs identified at the Tier 3 level in the Junior School.
  • Support teachers to program and implement high quality differentiation practices that support gifted and talented students.
  • Provide professional development and coaching for the implementation of high-quality teaching practice that supports gifted and talented students.
  • Develop and implement effective systems for documentation, communication, and collaboration to ensure effective collaborative planning for gifted students.
  • Coordinate a range of academic co-curricular programs targeting the development of gifted and talented students.
  • Be innovative, inspiring, energetic and increasingly knowledgeable in areas of curriculum compliance and effective learning approaches.
