With solid growth of the School in the local community, student numbers and facilities, we are in a great stage of School development.

Maitland Christian School is excited to be seeking expressions of interest for a Full-time ongoing English Teacher role commencing at the start of Term 3, 2024.  Experience teaching Senior classes and the ability to teach other subject areas as well as English is welcomed. Part-time is available to the right candidate.

In this role, you will be working as part of a great English team in a highly supportive environment.

Essential Criteria

  • A teacher with a passion for transformational Christian Education integrated into the curriculum and delivered in a framework with an increasing missional focus;
  • An ability to actively subscribe to and promote the foundational beliefs and doctrines of Maitland Christian School Limited;
  • A relational and empowering educator, able to grow student vision and capacity for learning in a Christian Education framework;
  • Demonstrating skills in relating to students, staff, parents, and the broader community;
  • A collaborative learner, able to work as part of flexible teams, to pursue ongoing excellence;
  • An education professional with a growing knowledge of their learning area, pedagogy, and innovation;
  • Experience teaching English throughout Years 7-12;
  • Able to demonstrate skills and flexibility to work with staff, students, and parents in a vibrant learning environment.
  • A committed Christian actively involved in their local church;
  • A willingness to learn, grow and be coached as a teacher;
  • Demonstrating well-developed communication, administration and interpersonal skills.

Selection Process

The School’s Selection Committee will consider applications as they are submitted and prepare a shortlist of candidates for interview.  The School may move more quickly to interview highly suitable applicants.  It is expected that at least one round of interviews will be undertaken with the successful applicant appointed to the School staff, ideally commencing duties at the beginning of Term Three 2024.

Salary

Salary will align with NSW Christian Schools Teaching Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2020-2023 at the successful applicant’s level of responsibility and experience.
