Description

We are currently seeking a student centred counsellor with a tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, or equivalent; registration with or eligibility for membership of the relevant Australian professional association, combined with relevant work experience.

Requirements:

The primary focus of the role is to support our remote indigenous boarding students. You will provide a range of advice and counselling services to individual students, including face to face, telephone and crisis counselling, to facilitate successful learning outcomes and enrich their personal and social wellbeing. Some strategies and modes used include one on one counselling, group programs and teamwork with other staff. As part of the welfare team, you will work collaboratively with the broader staff team and external stakeholders.
